The inscription "FRANCE" at the bottom of the foot is is not any more protuded : it is now included in a recessed area which makes the reel foot surface completely smooth.

- The color is midnight blue, but a bit less midnight that at the beginnings...
- A sticker of MITCHELL brand (Browning period) is affixed on the foot - for the Japanese market at least.

MAJOR CHANGES.
- The color is Satin Black.
- The color of the "MITCHELL 408" is gold.
- The pinion fixation is modified, the axis of the pinion screw is centered.
- The triggering system of the trip lever is also modified : A trigger plate is riveted on the body.
- The serial numbers are made of one letter and three numbers.
