THE LAST PLANAMATIC HIGH-SPEED ULTRA-LIGHT MITCHELL REEL OF THE 308SERIES.

Combined together on the same reel, The PLANAMATIC SYSTEM and the HIGH RATIO were originally the preserve of the 408 models. Garcia first bent this rule by mounting on its Sky-blue version the low-ratio gearings of the 308. A second break was t made by Mitchell Sports, although new gearings where made to give back to the 408 its high-speed attributes  the planamatic system was abandoned, and another alternative version of the 308 was equiped with this fast retrieve gears : the 308PRO. The Japanese market, willing to regain the original spirit of the Brand produced the last Ultra-light version with both a high-speed spec. and the PLANAMATIC SYSTEM : The 308PROplanamatic.

Although this reel isn't part of the 408 serie, It has its place here, as it is the last attempt to restore the prestige of the 408 original spirit.
