FIBER WASHER
1 - Red.

OBSERVATION :
This red fiber washer is the first version used on the Mitchell Ultra-Light series. On the early models (probably until 1967-1968) these washers were only put on large capacity spools (aluminum bodies). The small capacity ones, made out of bakelite, did not required any washers.

2 - Dark-blue.

OBSERVATION :
Although the part reference wasn't changed, The washers material was modified. Their dark-blue helps to identify the new ones. They were put on both large and small capacity spools. (The small spool capacity body was redesigned in the early 70's).

3 - Dark-brown.

OBSERVATION :
This brown tone washer replaces the former dark-blue one. Instead its color, the materiel looks alike. These washers where observe on The new graphite spools and also on the marine ones.

4 - Camel.

OBSERVATION :
New Spool bodies were produced for the Mitchell Sports Ultra-Light versions. The washer recess in these bodies was deeper and bigger than the former one. The new fiber washers were dimensioned so to fit the space (wider an thicker). different fiber are used, camel colored. The hardness and abrasiveness of the washer have been lowered.
