1 - Standard.

OBSERVATION :
This first version of the axle was produced for the 308 series for almost ten years without any modification. (from 1959 to the en of 1968).

2 - Circular spool seat.

OBSERVATION :
The fist improvement consist in a small circular base, added to the plastic spool seat.

3 - Circular slot.

OBSERVATION :
A circular slot is machine close to the bottom of the shaft. The mean of this feature is probably to improve the spring of the lubricant in the Axle Post.

4 - Two locking blades.

Two of the four initial loking blades are removed from the axle head.

4 - Black spool seat.

The Spool seat plastic arbor is black.

5 - Partly Brass.

OBSERVATION :
The axle is now Made out of brass, the spool seat remains in plastic.
The circular slot is not made anymore.

The all axle, including the spool seat is made out of brass.
